Our Patron
June 27, 2006 by The Fortress Keeper
The Pre-Crisis Supergirl is the Fortress’ patron saint, specifically for her selfless devotion to doing the right thing even if the rest of the world fails to acknowledge your accomplishments or - in Kara’s case - your very existence.
In this cynical era where characters - and real people for that matter - who wish to do good is derided as “naive” or “unrealistic,” the original Kara Zor-El represents a time when readers looked upon heroes as role models to emulate, rather than false idols to drag through the mud.
(You know who the Keeper is talking about, Brad Meltzer!)
And if that weren’t enough, she patiently put up with a lot of cr@p from her boorish cousin!!
