Squirrel Girl Loves Robbie

DPoolGLI

Given DC’s apparent quest to crush everything that was remotely quirky or humorous in its past, the Keeper has to credit Marvel for giving the green light to Squirrel Girl’s brave mission to rehabilitate Speedball.

Sure, the guy is beyond any help now …

… but the story indicates that somebody at the House Of Ideas recognizes how ludicrous the post-Countdown to Infinite Civil Initiative comics industry has become.

The last time DC printed a comic with that much bite, the book was shunted into oblivion faster than you could say “Black Mary.”

Given the amount of quirk DC had to begin with, is that really such a dramatic loss?

Mr. Mind, the time eating worm, thinks not.

Oh, DC still has pretty of quirk.

But given DiDidio’s attitude toward the Superbuddies, Young Justice and other humorous books, it seems the company has lost its sense of humor.

(I’d list the brilliant “dentist” scene in Blue Beetle as an exception, if Jeanclipso wasn’t trying to murder an infant in the very same story.)

    An infant?

    Hah hah!
Where do those wacky cats come up with that stuff? Comedy gold! Yessir.

The destruction of Chicago last issue was a real laff riot.
