Meet Kara Zor-El
July 11, 2007 by The Fortress Keeper
According to People.com - the most trusted news source on the Internet - Laura Vandervoort will portray the Smallville version of Supergirl next season.
Vandervoot is best known to scores of tweenie-boppers - and , sadly, the Keeper as well - for playing “Sadie Harrison” on the Canadian soap Instant Star.
(Hey, it may be no Degrassi but the show definitely rocks harder than One Tree Hill.)
According to the press release probing report issued by People, Smallville co-creator Al Gough said the Supergirl character will “shake things up.”
“She may be Clark Kent’s cousin, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to be the obedient one!”
Cool. Does that mean Kara will sprout crystal spikes and try to kill Clark?
At any rate, her inclusion in a still-popular television series proves Kara Zor-El remains an iconic figure to the general public. Hopefully Smallville producers will treat her better than the masterminds at DC Comics.

I dunno, should Supergirl really be Kal El’s age contemporary?
Great. We finally start getting rid of the sucky Superlolita and they perpetuated it for the tv show.
:\ At least Loeb still doesn’t write for Smallville (I think >.>
I wish they’d make her 10 or something
It would be interesting if she was more naive and positive and stuff >.> I just rly dun like the fact that it seems like she’s Chloe’s replacement as the series’ blonde. >
I like Chloe
Plus, she’s basically as old as Clark! And Jimmy’s older than Clark (and has seniority at the Planet). >:O
“At least Loeb still doesn’t write for Smallville (I think >.>)”
Yeah, but Gough has already said in a previous interview that the producers interest in Kara Zor-El primarily stemmed from Loeb’s pale regurgitation of her. So I’m already expecting the worst interpretation yet.
This merely looks like SMALLVILLE’s latest gimmick to try and desperately hold onto their shrinking audience numbers, since word already went out that this is Rosenbaum’s final season on the show (and the rest of the cast is certainly not getting any younger).
