Hey, we’ve been tagged with a meme!
Before the Keeper joins in the fun, however, here’s a picture of Elektra slaying a giant demon or something …
Y’know, Elektra: Assassin is one of our favorite Frank Miller comics. The story is a potent satire of ’80s America, and Bill Sienkiewicz’s watercolors manage to convey beauty, terror and surrealism in one deft stroke.
Good stuff.
OK, back to business…
- The Keeper has to post these rules before giving you the facts.
- Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
- At the end of the post, the Keeper must choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
The following statements are true facts, swear to Rao.
- The Keeper suffered from severe asthma as a child. We spent much of our youth in bed reading comic books. (Surprise, surprise.)
- The majority of our friends are female. This may explain the Keeper’s fondness for super-heroines, romance comics and shojo manga.
- We once washed dishes at a cafe owned by followers of Paramhansa Yogananda.
- The Keeper attended a year of law school and absolutely hated the experience. However, we met the future Mrs. Keeper through a mutual friend who attended the same school. So, ultimately something good came out of our year in hell.
- We “played” bass and “sang” in a one-off punk band called Tylenol Damage.
- On our first date, the future Mr. and Mrs. Keeper talked about Astro Boy.
- Our father and grandfather were print journalists, prompting the Keeper to follow in their footsteps for 15 years. Sadly, that career ended about as well for us as it did for our fore bearers.
- We own more than 1,000 albums.
And that’s that!
Wrapping up our part of the bargain, the Keeper summons CalvinPitt, SallyP and Googum.
We’re supposed to tag eight people? Ha! The Fortress Keeper spits upon your meme conventions!!
If that’s OK …

Thanks Keep! Just put up my secrety secret facts. It’s late and I’m lazy, so they can tag themselves though…
A thousand albums, eh? Surely not all vinyl, or multiple formats?
Once upon a time it was mostly vinyl, then I spent a fortune transferring them to CD.
Now, they’ve been ripped to MP3. What next???
