Jeff Smith aside, the Marvel Family are having a pretty crappy 2007.

In mainstream DC continuity, Cap is a third-rate Elric imitator and Freddy is apparently taking a world tour of tattoo parlors.

And now poor Mary Marvel, who revived from a Winick-induced coma for … this.

We won’t comment on the chessecake aspects of the drawing, as your old-fashioned host is more offended by the notion that a good person can’t exist in comics anymore unless he or she suffers a severe crisis of faith.

After all, one can’t truly be good unless they experience evil and blah blah blah …

But enough of our opinions! The Keeper decided to ask Mary Batson herself about this latest development.

Supergirl, Part Deux

It’s Supergirl vs. Supergirl in an issue guest-starring the Man of Steel! Meanwhile, phantoms from the Zone have taken over the planet. Will the real Kara triumph over the threat?

The Keeper doesn’t mean to be negative - OK, well maybe we do - but didn’t Kara go through this already?

(And do Ian Churchill and Michael Turner really deserve an homage cover at this stage in the game?)

All will be forgiven, however if DC reveals the Joe Kelly Kara Zor-El is actually Lesla-Lar in disguise!
