Given the number of blogs talking about Kara these days, the Keeper thought he’d turn his attention to other matters for awhile.
But after seeing what DC has in store for the Maid of Might, well … gee it just keeps getting better and better, huh?
Does anyone at Time-Warner realize that Gail Simone wants to write this title? Somebody, somewhere … please make this happen!
DC seems to be determined to drag this character in some really ugly directions. For as “sappy and unrealistic” as the Pre-Crisis Supergirl was constantly accused of being (and occasionally WAS), going 180ยบ in the other direction can’t be the solution. The unrelenting “ickyness” of the current Kara Zor-El is a real telling sign of just how far down the moral spectrum the industry has sunk.

I love these happy and light comics today. I guess she’s on Iron Man’s side now.

You know what I’d LOVE DC to do…have Gail Simone do a Mary Marvel/Supergirl team-up. She gets to develop the characters and then they make THAT cannon!

While I have no intrest in a Gail Simone Supergirl (because there are in fact OTHER female comics writers out there) it would be nice to see someone be non-creepy on the book…

Yeah this is disheartening, DC has little loyalty and less ability when it comes to energetic b-list performers like Supergirl. In some ways the current situation resembles that of the mid-1970’s with Supergirl solo feature being a disaster, yet all her guests shots in other books routinely sparkle.
I mean Supergirl and the Legion is a compulsively readable book IMHO…I even liked her one shot in the Infinite Holiday Special….but these crystal wings?
Strictly a harbinger of diresome things to come.
This is why I continue to pretend the only stories involving Supergirl take place 1000 years from now.
