Hey, Aquaman Leave The Kids Alone

Uh-oh. Aquaman and his alarmingly young sidekick Aqualad want to teach some darn fool kids a “severe lesson.”

Since this is a DC comic from the Silver Age, you know what that means …

Cruel deceptions!

Taking a page from Kal-El’s book, Aquaman and his finny friends scare the young sailors out of the seven seas (and probably minds) by creating powerful whirlpools …

impersonating sea serpents …

whipping up tsunamis …

and, er, dressing up like pirates!

Unfortunately, Aquaman’s enemies destroyed Atlantis (again) while the Sea King performed this “public service.” It all worked out in the end, however, because Aqualad filmed the boys’ aquatic humiliation and pitched it to MTV as a reality show.

The subsequent income from the show enabled the Atlanteans to rebuild and live happily ever after … at least until the Spectre paid a visit.

And in case anyone was wondering, the Fortress has indeed opened its doors once more.

Well at least now we know the real reason Spect destroyed the undersea kingdom. Vengeance on those who would humiliate young boaters.

I wonder, did Aquaman have anything to do with the Minnow’s crew being stranded on that island all those years? I bet Gilligan harpooned Mera by accident or something.

I guess we can call this Aquadickery.
