The REAL Captain Marvel

DC released some previews today of its upcoming maxi-series, the Trials Of Shazam.

Doesn’t really evoke the charming, whimsical character of the Golden Age, huh?

Sadly, it seems such qualities are no longer viable in this harsh age. (The Keeper wonders if anybody could even write in that mind set anymore…)

While the name and image of Captain Marvel will undoubtedly live on despite the success or failure of this latest revamp, the Big Red Cheese’s soul passed on decades ago.

OK, the Keeper admits he’s been out of the X-loop for awhile and isn’t up on all those crazy, hip mutants running around out there.

(There may only be 198, but it seems that each and every one of the bloody lot has a comic-book out on the stands …)

We recognize Madrox, Callisto and Pyro but who the heck is Arclight (second from right) supposed to be?
